Meet the team: insights from Einas Mohamed, Innovation Consultant
In the first of a new series offering a glimpse behind the scenes at Ibtechar, we sat down with Innovation Consultant, Einas Mohamed, to talk about her career path, her current role at Ibtechar, and her vision for the future of innovation in Qatar.
“Ibtechar’s mission to drive practical innovation deeply resonated with me.”
Einas began her career in engineering. “I developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving,” she explains. This background provided a springboard into the educational technology field, where she progressed from EdTech Engineer to EdTech Specialist — and eventually Head of Services. “These roles allowed me to see firsthand the transformative power of technology and innovation,” she says. Her desire to broaden her impact led her to Ibtechar, where she now uses her skills “to drive meaningful change and help organisations embrace innovation in practical, scalable ways.”
Einas was drawn to Ibtechar’s mission of “driving practical innovation”. “The company’s focus on creating tangible, scalable solutions and its role as a pioneer in Qatar’s innovation ecosystem made it a natural fit,” she notes. The culture at Ibtechar is particularly important to her, as she explains, “What I value most about working here is the collaborative environment, the opportunity to work on projects that directly empower individuals and organisations, combined with a collaborative, forward-thinking culture that encourages creativity and exploration.”
“We empower individuals and organisations to turn challenges into opportunities”
Einas believes that Ibtechar plays a vital role in shaping Qatar’s innovation scene. “Managing over 70% of the country’s innovation spaces, Ibtechar delivers programmes that foster a culture of sustainable innovation. By supporting both individuals and organisations, we empower them to turn challenges into opportunities.” This approach enables sustainable growth and promotes advancements in line with Qatar’s National Vision, fostering an ecosystem where, as she puts it, “creativity and practical solutions thrive.”
Einas is particularly passionate about the Sanea Programme — the first initiative she worked on after joining Ibtechar in 2017. “It’s a movement to inspire innovation among Qatar’s youth,” she reflects, adding, “Witnessing the transformation in young minds as they realise their potential is deeply fulfilling.” For Einas, the programme embodies Ibtechar’s mission to make innovation tangible and accessible, nurturing the next generation of innovators.
“I see the impact of my work in the tangible outcomes that emerge.”
Einas sees her role as empowering individuals and organisations to utilise innovation for growth and problem-solving. “By designing and implementing tailored innovation programmes, I help clients develop practical skills and frameworks to address challenges and create meaningful solutions,” she explains. Her work encompasses a range of activities, from guiding teams through design thinking processes to assisting organisations in building their innovation strategies. The impact, she says, is visible in “empowered individuals, enhanced organisational capabilities, and the tangible outcomes that emerge—be it prototypes, improved processes, or innovative business models.”
Looking ahead, Einas is enthusiastic about Ibtechar’s future work. She is particularly excited by “the prospect of scaling our successful programmes, launching innovative spin-offs to solidify our position as a leader in the innovation ecosystem.”
She acknowledges the challenge of ensuring that innovation efforts are sustainable, aligned with local needs, and globally competitive. However, she is optimistic about the opportunities presented by Qatar’s investment in infrastructure, education, and technology, observing that, “The shift towards service improvement and leveraging innovation spaces presents a unique chance to create impactful, scalable solutions.”
“Stay curious and open to learning — have the courage to take calculated risks.”
Einas encourages young innovators to cultivate curiosity and a willingness to learn. “Innovation requires resilience and the willingness to experiment and fail,” she advises. She also recommends taking advantage of hands-on programmes, mentorship opportunities, and networking with like-minded individuals. “Seek out challenges that push you to think outside the box and look at real-world problems in a different light,” she adds.
For Einas, success in innovation hinges on creativity, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset. “A strong understanding of local needs coupled with an awareness of global trends is crucial for creating relevant and impactful solutions,” she emphasises. “Resilience, adaptability, and the courage to take calculated risks are equally important, as innovation often involves venturing into uncharted and unfamiliar territory.”
