ROWAD 2024: Reflecting on growth — and looking to the future of innovation

Last month, Ibtechar attended the ROWAD 2024 summit at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) — a welcome opportunity for us to participate in technical and knowledge-sharing sessions, meet with a diverse range of entrepreneurs, professionals and thought leaders, and share ideas around innovation and growth.

Our co-founder and CEO, Nayef Al-Ibrahim, gave an overview of our own journey — from an ambitious startup back in 2011, to becoming one of the the largest development and innovation enablement companies in Qatar.

As he commented, “The advantage of the summit attracting delegates from all over the Arab world is the widespread participation in innovation. We were pleased to contribute our expertise through involvement in several diverse sessions on our role in the promotion of innovation and the story of our growth as a medium-sized startup company in Qatar.”

For Nayef, the international nature of the event is what makes it such a valuable opportunity, as he explains, “The added value of this type of summit, especially on a regional level, is that it brings together a large amount of human resources and expertise in one place from all over the country as well as the exposure of meeting participants from other countries.”

You can view highlights of Nayef’s two presentations at the event on our YouTube channel.

For the team at Ibtechar, perhaps the most thought-provoking aspect of Nayef’s presentation at the summit came with two pictures he presented, one from the very beginnings of our company, back in 2011, and the other a recent team photo taken at one of our regular town halls — where we share ideas, celebrate progress and reaffirm our aims and direction.

It’s quite a difference — reflecting how we’ve grown as a team, and the invaluable expertise, skills and capabilities we’ve added over the years. But more importantly, it underlines our commitment to driving similar growth in the clients we work with. As we grow, we’re better equipped to help others realise their vision, and successfully navigate their own innovation journeys, both here in Qatar, in the neighbouring countries represented at the summit, and on the wider global stage.

Once again, a new chapter is unfolding at Ibtechar. As part of his presentation to the summit, Nayef addressed this, unveiling our new company structure, which gathers together services and programmes in two discrete areas of the business:

  • Ibtechar Academy — supporting individuals and organisations on their innovation learning journey from student to professional level.
  • Ibtechar Consultancy — providing tailored innovation strategies and support that cultivate the concept and culture of innovation within organisations.

As we prepare to reveal our new website in December, and launch our new service areas under the Academy and Consultancy banners, we’re excited to share this next part of our journey. Keep an eye on our blog and social media to be the first to hear about what’s new at Ibtechar.
